Our Mini Coop!

Cooper is (so far) an absolute dream baby!  He sleeps a lot, but when he's awake he is always so content and mellow!  We have had a few messes, one blow out and a few poop geysers, but other than that I can't complain! I am in LOVE!

Brady and his cars

Brady just loves cars! He usually has 2 or 3 in his hands. Pretty much everywhere you turn there are little lines of cars around the house. I have really enjoyed watching his imagination change, and his little personality shine through! I am so blessed to be a mom!

We're all Smiles!

Brady is so happy to be a big brother, he always wants to hold Cooper and can't get enough of all his little body parts.  We are so lucky to get two little boys next to each other,  I just know they are going to be the best of friends!

Introducing...

Cooper Kay Benson

6lbs 8oz   19 1/2 in

Well, i went to the doctor on Friday and was dialated to a 4 so we decided to call the hospital to see if any beds were available, they were all full but would have one @ 4 pm so i killed some time and went in then. When i got there the bed was still being used so i was put in a temporary room and started on pitocin @ 5. My contractions were almost immediately intensified but not painful, i kinda felt forgotten about because they didn't come back to check me until 2 hours later. (i think because they didn't want to tell me they couldn't give me my epidural because, the anesthesiologist was called into two emergency c-sections.) so @ 7 they moved me to the big room and 30 mins later i was numb :) thank heaven for drugs! They checked me i was a 5+. My nurse wanted me to lay on my left side for 30 min and then she would come back and switch sides. Well when she came back 30 min later she noticed some blood and checked me i was at a 10! A ten at 8 something! THANK HEAVENS i had my epidural in time, i have no desire to experience the pain of childbirth! The pressure to push was immediate but i waited for the doctor, and had him at 9:33 pm. What an exciting day and now i have three kids, how fun!

baby boy benson

I know, its not the most sanitary thing to do but, Brady really wanted to lay in Cooper's little bed so instead of having a two year old melt down in the hospital daddy gave in. ( for 5 seconds ) Silly kid!

Mr. and Mrs. Benson

They are so cute together! This weekend was so much fun, busy but fun! Josh's younger brother got married on Saturday and all the family got together for a great time. I am so tired, but starting to get back in the swing of things. Little baby Cooper is still hanging out, hopefully he will join our crazy family this weekend!

BAK BAK RUN--- Here comes the GUN!

Brooklyn has been realizing lately that some of the food she eats used to be alive and living on a farm. She has always known that milk comes from cows and eggs come from chickens, and is starting to understand that some farms raise animals to kill so that we can eat them! (she is OK with that) Yesterday I bought a rotisserie chicken from Costco for dinner, Brookie asked for the leg. As she was eating it she had a few questions for me: "mom is the wing in here?" I told her it is not in her leg but it was still attached to the chicken. Josh likes hot wings and orders them at dinner a lot, Brookie's next question: "can I eat the wings too, before daddy gets home?" I told her if she is still hungry.  A few quiet seconds go by and Brooklyn must of been really thinking about the chicken leg she was eating because the next question out of the blue was: "mom do you think it ran from the gun?"  I silently laughed, and ignored the question, which was easy to do because I was doing the dishes and the water was running, I really did not want to tell her that they hold the poor little chicken down and chop its head off with an ax! I don't think she is old enough too understand that.  I really don't need her to be anymore picky about what she eats than she already is! Bless her little pondering mind! I love her so much!

Haircuts....

Were getting ready for the wedding next weekend, haircuts and all! Brady (as usual) didn't have as much fun as Brooklyn!

Doctor Update

Yesterdays appointment went well, there was no change in my dilatation so I have the OK to go back to life as usual. I am now seeing the doctor weekly, so we'll see next Wednesday! > side note: my brothers wife had her baby yesterday June 4th, he was just over three weeks early, weighing 6 lbs 9 ozs and 20.5 in long! Welcome to the family..... Cash James Hirschi.... we can't wait to see you!

We're getting excited!

I know it has been a while. I was looking at newborn pictures of Brooklyn and can hardly wait to meet our new little guy! Two weeks ago I was put on semi bedrest because I am completely thinned, so the doc told me to take it easy. I go in tomorrow to see if I've started to dialate. Hopefully our little guy will stay put for two more weeks and finish growing big and strong! (at least until after Zach and Zaira's wedding) We have decided on the name Cooper, and can't wait to see who he looks like!  We'll keep you posted!
